The U.S. Embassy thanked firefighters

The National Fire Authority (NFA) firefighters were presented with the certificate of appreciation by the American Embassy in Fiji at the NFA headquarters in Suva on Friday.

The certificate was presented by the American Embassy Regional Security Officer in Suva, Mr. Joseph Brooks on behalf of the U.S. Ambassador Judith Cefkin.

While presenting the certificate to the firefighters, Mr. Brooks conveyed the sincere appreciation of the Ambassador to the firefighters in recognition of their hardwork and service to the community, her praise for the progress the NFA has made in its service delivery and her wishes of success to the firefighters.

In September last year, NFA Suva Fire Team attended to the fire at the American Ambassador’s residence and quickly put out the fire that started in the kitchen area, saving the Ambassador’s residence.

While receiving the certificate with the firefighters that attended the fire call on that day, Mr.Moceitai said they are really motivated by the American Embassy.

“The NFA welcomes and appreciates such feedbacks by the members of the community as it continues to uplift its service delivery to the nation. Such feedbacks by the members of the community motivates and encourages the firefighters to further excel in their firefighting career,”Mr.Moceitai added.

Established by virtue of the National Fire Service Act, 1994 the National Fire Authority assumed responsibilities to provide fire services for the entire nation of Fiji in February 1995.
